Our most important accolade? 100's of 5 star reviews by Amazon purchasers! About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Flex. Fit. Freedom. How did you come up with the idea for this product? Some ideas come to us in a dream and some, like ThinOPTICS, during a long bike ride. Teddy Shalon's friend had forgotten his reading glasses. He was frustrated, and asked Teddy to read a text message on his cell phone because he couldn’t see it. During the next twenty miles of riding, Teddy developed the idea of putting reading glasses onto the backs of mobile phones. Two years and 200+ prototypes later ThinOPTICS were launched. A couple years later the keychain was invented as a fun and innovative alternative to never forgetting your reading glasses. What makes your product special? Reading glasses guaranteed for life? Seriously? Yes, we mean it! Free replacement glasses for life. Beyond that, users of readers typically own 8 pair and buy 2 pair per year. The only difference in choosing one reader vs. another is style or price. Regardless of how many other pairs of readers you own or like, you still find yourself in dimly list restaurants struggling to read the menu because you either left your glasses at home or forgot them. We designed ThinOPTICS for that moment and so many others by freeing you from having to remember your glasses. ThinOPTICS are the only reading glasses that should be owned by EVERY user of reading glasses because they are Always with You. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Perhaps the most important word in our mission statement is "delight". Read our Amazon reviews. In those reviews, via social media, through email and especially face-to-face we feel the delight exuded from our users who tell us they can't live without ThinOPTICS now. It's very hard to create a truly innovative product that is acceptable for people to put on their face, not only every now and then, but every day when they are in a bind. We live vicariously through our user stories sharing how ThinOPTICS have become a utility that our users can't live without. The fruits of our product development acumen and "never let you down" customer service come in the form of fanatic user referrals which humble us greatly.
